My girlfriend and I are really happy we worked with Next Step Realty. We reached out to them one week before our scheduled apartment hunting trip in NYC and they were able to match us up with a broker the same day we arrived. During the week, Next Step Realty helped us get comfortable with the NYC apartment hunting process and made sure we had all of the necessary paperwork in order to put in an application quickly once we found an apartment we liked. Our broker, Alec Murphy, did a great job of locating and taking us to a wide range of apartments in our price range. He was very involved in the week leading up to our tour, reaching out to landlords of apartments we found online that looked interesting, and we appreciated that he let us know when he felt a listing we found was overpriced. He also went above and beyond when it was time to submit an application. He was able to get us into the landlord’s leasing office Friday night to put in our application and texted us Saturday morning to let us know we had been approved. He was also able to negotiate a move-in date two weeks later than what the landlord was originally asking for, to minimize the time we had to carry two leases at once. Overall we were very pleased with Alec and Next Step Realty, and would recommend both to anyone relocating to the city.
